Violinist Robin Hansen, a native of Berkeley, graduated with a Bachelors degree in music from the University of California, Berkeley. While there she participated in the Los Angeles Philharmonic Institute Orchestra under the tutelage of Michael Tilson Thomas and Leonard Bernstein. Upon graduation, she received three consecutive Hertz traveling fellowships for study with Alex Treger in Los Angeles and Christiane Edinger in Munich. After which she became a founding concertmaster of the New World Symphony in Miami Beach, Florida under the baton of MTT. She holds a first violin position with the San Francisco Ballet Orchestra, performs regularly with the San Francisco Opera Orchestra and is concertmaster of the Midsummer Mozart Festival Orchestra under the direction of Maestro George Cleve.
