January is French Music Festival month in the Noontime Concerts™ series (“San Francisco’s Musical Lunch Break”) at Old St. Mary’s Cathedral. Appropriately enough, the Festival began with the earliest of the works planed for the series of four recitals, covering slightly more than half a century between 1686 and 1747. The featured composers, in the chronological order of the publication of their respective works, were Marin Marais, François Couperin, Charles Dollé, and Antoine Forqueray.
