The CKF was founded by three musicians from the current Parisian scene, Fabrizio Colombo on bandoneon, Émilie Aridon-Kociołek on piano, and Lucas Frontini on double bass, who were brought together by their fascination with the sound of the iconic trios of Argentine tango history.
Following in the footsteps of the Vanguatrio in particular, a group from Buenos Aires in the 1970s, the repertoire imagined and arranged here by Fabrizio Colombo offers a rich palette of nuances, combining a strong tango identity with forays into jazz and an exceptional display of virtuosity.
This is an opportunity for these three musicians to combine their sounds and energies in the magic of the trio, making their mark on the rich and exciting landscape of contemporary instrumental tango.
Fabrizio Colombo is a renowned bandoneonist, composer, and arranger, born in 1994 in Mendoza, Argentina, and currently based in Paris, France. Through his instrument, he has discovered a versatility that allows him to explore a wide range of musical genres, including tango, jazz, and classical.
Throughout his career, he has performed as a soloist and chamber musician on stages across South America, the United States, Europe, and Asia, performing iconic works such as Astor Piazzolla’s “Concerto Aconcagua for bandoneon, string orchestra, and percussion,” the tango opera “María de Buenos Aires” (Astor Piazzolla/Horacio Ferrer), Piazzolla’s “Concerto for Bandoneon and Guitar,” and Martín Palmeri’s “Misa a Buenos Aires,” among others.
In 2019, his talent was recognized with first prize at the “Che Bandoneón” International Competition in Vermont, USA, an achievement that consolidated his prestige in the musical field. In 2024, he was invited to join the Quinteto Revolucionario, the official quintet of the Astor Piazzolla Foundation led by Astor Piazzolla’s widow, Laura Escalada, as bandoneonist for a tour of Switzerland and South Korea.
He is currently part of the musical theater production “The Infamous Ramirez Hoffman” alongside American icon John Malkovich, pianist Anastasya Terenkova, and violinist Andrej Bielow.
He has shared the stage with renowned musicians such as Néstor Marconi, Alexis Cárdenas, Francisco “Pacho” Flores, Juanjo Mosalini, Leo Sujatovich, Carlos Aguirre, and Minino Garay, among others. In addition, he has participated as a session musician on numerous recordings, distinguishing himself with his contribution to the song “Nunca Más” for the soundtrack of Santiago Mitre’s Oscar-nominated film “1985.” He has also been part of the bandoneon section, as a substitute, of the prestigious Orquesta del Tango de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, conducted by Néstor Marconi and Juan Carlos Cuacci, alongside the best bandoneonists in the country.
Fabrizio grew up in a deeply musical family, immersed in classical music and tango, which allowed him to be influenced by these genres from an early age. He began his training as a violinist at the age of eight, under the tutelage of his father, while at the same time taking up choral singing with his mother, an opera singer. Eventually, he decided to devote his professional career to the bandoneon, following in the footsteps of his grandfather, Francisco Colombo, a renowned bandoneonist and director of his own typical orchestra, who was a leading figure in tango in Mendoza.
To date, Fabrizio has released five albums: “Siempre Paris – Fabrizio Colombo 7teto” (2025), “Celedonio – Fabrizio Colombo 7teto” (2022), “L’art du duo – Colombo Frontini” (2023), “Afinidad – Pinto Colombo Dúo” (2022), and “Vestigio – Colombo Pérez Colombo” (2020).
Introduced to music at a very early age within her family, pianist Émilie Aridon-Kociolek gave her first recital in Poland at the age of 9 in the town of Zywiec.
Her early career was marked by the teaching of Denis Pascal at the CNR in Rueil-Malmaison, Pierre Reach, Eric Le Sage, and Paul Meyer at the CNR in Paris, and punctuated by several awards in various national and international competitions in France and abroad.
In 2010, she was unanimously accepted into the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et Danse de Paris in Michel Béroff’s class, where she also studied with Claire Désert, Bertrand Chamayou, Romano Pallottini, Laurent Cabasso, Macha Belooussova, and Sébastien Vichard, graduating in 2015 with a Master’s degree.
She has had the opportunity to perform alongside Quinteto Respiro as a soloist with the Lille National Orchestra and the Lyon National Orchestra, and in 2021, she was invited by bandoneonist William Sabatier to record a transcription of Astor Piazzolla’s Double Concerto “Hommage à Liège” by Astor Piazzolla with the Dijon-Bourgogne Orchestra conducted by Leonardo Garcia-Alarcon for the Fuga Libera label.
She won two awards that same year at the Piazzolla Music Competition, with Quinteto Respiro (gold medal) and Quinteto Emedea (bronze medal).
In September 2022, at the initiative of the Pantonale Festival, she performed for the first time with the Quinteto Respiro at the Berlin Philharmonic alongside vibraphonist Lucas Dorado.
She is currently part of the Cello Tango project by Ophelie Gaillard, an icon of French classical music, and performs in a duo with Samy Thiébault, one of the leading figures on the current Paris jazz scene.
Bassist Lucas Eubel-Frontini was born in Argentina and began playing the electric bass at the age of 15. A few years later, he decided to devote himself to studying the double bass under Roberto Tormo, a renowned Argentine double bassist and student of François Rabbath.
In 2006, Lucas moved to France to continue his musical studies at the Conservatoire Régional de Toulouse, in the class of Valérie Petite, solo double bassist with the Orchestre National de Bordeaux. At the same time, he attended the advanced course at the Musikhalle school of contemporary music and jazz in Toulouse. In 2008, he obtained his performance diploma from the Toulouse Conservatory with high honors.
After studying at the Trinity Laban Conservatory of Music and Dance in London, where he obtained his Bachelor’s with Honors in Classical Double Bass in 2013, he moved to Paris, where he currently resides.
Lucas works regularly as a freelance musician in Paris, performing with Quinteto Emedea, Orquesta Silbando, Cuarteto Lunares, and TaXXI (Tango XXI). He also collaborates regularly with the Orquesta Silencio, the Orquesta Tanguísimo, the Collectif Roulotte Tango, Juan José Mosalini, and William Sabatier, among other groups dedicated to Argentine music.
