As a committed friend and fan of our live weekly series at Old Saint Mary’s Cathedral, we would like to present a new and important option for you to consider as an essential way to support our work.

Most of you already understand this to be a critical time in the arts nonprofit world. Organizations in the community space where Noontime Concerts has lived over these decades face financial exposures much greater than at almost any other time we can remember.

We have continued to provide unparalleled experiences. Through better and worse climates, all seasons of the year, throughout the years, indeed, across generations: memories and cherished life experiences, as well as contact with our inner understandings of ourselves, and the world, can easily comprise an experience at Noontime Concerts.

In this next stage in our evolution, the board is inaugurating a new financial model we feel certain is the key to our ongoing survival and success as an organization.

For those closest supporters of Noontime Concerts, we want you to appreciate the critical need for serious and substantial — and material — monetary steps you can take at this time, including substantial pledges on behalf of the future operations of the series in the coming years.

 

How Sponsorships Work

The goal is to secure an enduring and consistent path for Noontime Concerts over a five-year period and beyond. The satisfaction for you, of course, is the knowledge that you are supporting this significant public arts project, and at the same time, helping to realize the great benefit of preserving this incredible program and institution that is Noontime Concerts.

With our new Sponsorship program, you make a one-time gift at the tiered Sponsorship level of your choice and at the same time, pledge a continuing annual gift in that same amount. We will remind you each year of the amount due to fulfill the pledge. We will then ask you to review and renew your pledge in five years’ time.

After 37 years, Noontime Concerts most decidedly needs to hear from you, as an individual who cherishes the program and who has also honored our longstanding ability to make this exceptional work available each week to audiences who may not be able to afford to attend concerts in other more formal venues.

With your partnership, we can continue on into the future to serve as an irreplaceable venue for amazing musicians. Without it, we cannot.

This is definitely the time: and now — at the new noontimeconcerts.org website — this is definitely the place to make your next big move to help keep the fires lit and to help keep our legacy alive for another five years and continuing through the next 10 to 20 years! It all depends on YOU.

 

Our Sustainability Model: A Sponsorship Donation and a Continuing Annual Pledge

With the launch of our new website, we are now uniquely able to reach out to illustrate in this manner the kind of financial support we are now truly in need of developing. And quickly.

For decades, Noontime Concerts has sought as much audience donation support as possible. Underlying the budget, however, has always been another factor: key, high dollar, substantial donor gifting that has maintained our financial structure for the last 25 years through more generous years and through leaner years. High dollar generosity has always kept the longevity of the series while our audience has bridged the gaps in between.

As this gifting has gravitated toward a pattern of less frequent, although sometimes higher dollar acts of generosity, Noontime Concerts has felt the increasing pinch of uneven finances and longer troughs of uneven annual income along the way – and a growing need to realize robust annual income consistency through month-by-month levels of funding.

This need has now become critical.

So, our appeal to you now has also changed and it is now organized around a new program geared toward securing commitments of regular, recurring, sponsoring donations — and especially an enduring segment of our revenue provided through annual recurring pledges. You are the key to realizing this next financial strategy. And our new online vehicle is our means for accomplishing this goal.

New Digital Footprint

As you can see here on the site, another material development has occurred: we have taken the bold step into virtual presentation for audiences that will extend throughout and beyond the immediate limits of San Francisco and the Bay Area. This approach has represented an enormous and very consciously undertaken investment in exceptional online music presentation. 

We feel this is Noontime Concerts’ route into the 21st century. The Noontime Concerts of old is still very much alive and well, of course, on the inside – just the same as always. We made sure that this would always be the case. A special place and a special experience for those who can come to the 12:30 performances. But, at the same time, we now are also expanding toward a more or less unbounded global level audience – and toward needed and expanding sustaining donor bases as well.

This was all the result of an incredible full board determination to meet the new times and to meet audiences where they are. But we are really all the beneficiaries of this incredible development and incredible online repository of work. Since Covid-19 days, the need for outreach, expanding audiences online and off — and securing increasing amounts of financial support month in and month out — has become a larger and larger part of what the organization has recognized as its critical pathway. Our online outreach is the cornerstone of the effort.

 

This Website Preserves the Art Form and Now We Need Your Help Too!

We hope you will take a look at this incredible new online resource and that you too will value the incredible preservation project this website represents. Not least which is the astonishing level of audiovisual presentation we have made available to our audiences both existing and new.

It is truly a resource that brings the world class presentations of our immediate performance stage and puts them onto a beautifully crafted world stage. Our entire historical archive is also available and what a community resource this is in its own right! You too have a role to play in preserving all of these efforts.

 

Our Crossroad

Without further ongoing fiscal sponsorship from you, Noontime Concerts will soon reach a crossroad where we will need to decide how, how robustly, and how fervently we will be able to continue serving this mission. The critical need is now, and it is to increase the year-by-year donations needed to bridge times when our most generous donors are not in the position to right the ship.
