Hailed by critics for its “bright and radiant music making” (Robert Sherman, WQXR Radio), praised for its “heart on-sleeve performances” (Classical New Jersey), the US-based, Neave Trio has been described as “A revelation” (San Diego News), “a consummate ensemble” (Palm Beach Daily Reader) and “A brilliant trio” (MusicWeb International), who has “exceeded the Gold Standard and moved on to Platinum” (Fanfare Magazine). The Boston Musical Intelligencer ranked the Neave Trio among the finest chamber ensembles of their generation, citing their Rockport debut among the “Best of 2014”, writing: “it is inconceivable that they will not soon be among the busiest chamber ensembles going” (Brightness and Radiance at Rockport, Steven Ledbetter). Neave Trio members hail from the United States, Japan and Russia.

As one of the finest emerging young chamber ensembles, the Neave Trio has been enjoying tremendous international success on concert series and at festivals worldwide. In the USA, the Trio has appeared in Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, the 92nd Street Y, Boston’s Jordan Hall, and on such notable series as the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center/La Jolla Music Society, Rockport Chamber Music Festival (as their “Rising Star” Ensemble), Syracuse Friends of Chamber Music, Music at Kohl Mansion, Fontana Chamber Arts, UCLA Chamber Music At The Clark, the American Dvorak Society, Laguna Beach Live! the Flagler Museum Chamber Music Series, California Center for the Arts, Harry Jacobs Chamber Music Society, the Norton Building Concert Series, the Los Angeles Music Guild, the La Jolla Athenaeum, and frequently as soloists, performing Beethoven’s Triple Concerto with orchestras across the country. The Neave Trio has also appeared oversees, concertizing in the UK and Europe.

The Neave Trio has been broadcast on radio stations across the United States and abroad, with notable live broadcasts on WGBH Radio (Boston) WXXI and WNYC  Radio (New York). The Trio has been featured on American Public Media’s “Performance Today” as well as The McGraw-Hill Financial Young Artists Showcase (WQXR Radio, NYC). The Trio’s first

self-produced album was met with critical acclaim, listed on Fanfare Magazine’s 2014 “Want List” as well as being named “Recording of the Month” by Music Web International.

The Neave Trio is fast distinguishing itself as an ambassador of music to a wider audience through innovative concert presentations. The Trio regularly collaborates with artists of all mediums. Recent projects include award-winning and critically acclaimed performances with the Blythe Barton Dance Company at the 2015 San Diego International Fringe Festival (Winner: Best Dance Production) as well as part of UCSD’s ArtPower! series. The Trio regularly gives live performances incorporating the work of projection artist Ryan Brady to provide a visual component to the standard repertoire. In February 2014, in collaboration with composer Amanuel Zarzowski, the Neave Trio launched their interactive concert series “STEIN2.0,” which seeks to expand the concert going experience to a wider audience, using audience participation and social media tools.

The Neave Trio is thrilled to champion new works by living composers. In April 2016, the Trio was honored to give the World Premiere performance of “Klee Musings”, a new piano trio written for the Neave Trio by celebrated American composer, Augusta Read Thomas. The Trio continues to work with composer of today and will give World Premiere performances of new works in the coming season.

As part of their mission to create new pathways for classical music and engage a wider audience, the Neave Trio will produce a genre-defying short film based on the tango music of Astor Piazzolla. This feature, “4 Seasons” will bring together the work of acclaimed film director, Bridget Palardy, the dancing and choreography of the Blythe Barton Dance Company and “Los Estaciones Portenas” by Piazzolla, performed by the Neave Trio.

The Neave Trio has been honored to hold several important residency positions. The Trio is currently the Visiting Artist Trio In Residence at Brown University, and Trio In Residence at the ArtsAhimsa Chamber Music Festival. Previously, The Trio was the first-ever Fisch/Axelrod Trio in Residence at San Diego State University and completed the prestigious Chamber Music Residency at the Banff Centre (Canada). Other past residencies include those at Providence College (Rhode Island), the Gann Academy, the Concord Academy, Biola University, the Rochester Institute of Technology, the Walnut Hill School for the Performing Arts, St. Marks International Chamber Music Institute and Festival, as well as at the Chamber Music Connection.

Trio members are graduates of the Yale, Manhattan, Mannes and Longy Schools of Music, the Cleveland Institute of Music and the Chopin Academy in Moscow. They have been recipients of the Lilian Fuchs Chamber Music Prize, the Gartoff Foundation Prize and the Yale School of Music Chamber Music Prize. The Trio has worked with distinguished artists including Menahem Pressler, Leon Fleischer, Claude Frank, Anne Marie McDermott, Yehudi Wyner, Pinchas Zukerman, Joseph Kalichstein, Gilbert Kalish, Donald Weilerstein, Vivian Weilerstein, Robert Mann, Peter Serkin and members of the Tokyo, Brentano and Emerson Quartets.

Current recording projects include an all-Piazzolla album for the Azica Record Label, which will feature all new arrangements of Piazzolla’s works for Piano Trio and Voice by Argentinian arranger, Leonardo Suarez Paz. This album will feature Mezzo Soprano and Metropolitan Opera Star, Carla Jablonski.

Highlights of the upcoming season include touring the US, the release of “American Moments” on the Chandos Record Label, the recording of their Piazzolla album for the Azica Record Label, production of their short film, “4Seasons”, and a collaboration with the critically acclaimed Calidore String Quartet in performance of the Zwillich septet for quartet and trio.
